With Google's Android-powered Googlebook PCs just on the horizon, the company is updating its support documentation for existing Chromebook computers running ChromeOS. Google says that in-market Chromebooks will continue to receive updates throughout the rest of their support cycle, including with continued compatibility with enterprise and education toolsets. For reference, ChromeOS is guaranteed ten years of software updates as outlined in Google's Auto Update policy.
