I have a Kindle from 2019, and while it still works quite well, I've been itching for an upgrade. Lately, I've been looking at offerings outside of Amazon, just to have something that runs on Android and has a more open ecosystem. It's nothing that Kindle has done wrong, and I think the Kindle line still produces some excellent e-readers.
