Sometimes, more frustrating than knowing something is permanently out of reach -- like a penthouse apartment in downtown New York, say -- is thinking that something should be affordable, but strangely isn't. I know a lot of us feel that way about the cost of meat at grocery stores these days. A personal gripe of mine is that the best personal EVs can cost more than a motorcycle, despite being half the size.
