I first heard about Boox's Palma several months ago when it became the tech YouTuber product of the moment, but it wasn't until I came across David Pierce's The Verge story about the E Ink gadget that I decided to get my hands on one. Like Pierce, I hoped the Palma would encourage me to read more and fight that all-encompassing urge to start scrolling through TikTok or Instagram when I'm bored or killing time before an appointment. I write and edit for a living and know I should really read more in my free time, but I always find myself being pulled away from articles and books. Maybe the Palma is the device I've been waiting for?
