Here are the EE Pocket-lint Awards nominees for Best TV 2022

The EE Pocket-lint Awards shortlist has been announced, as the Awards prepare to celebrate products across 20 main categories from smartphones and tablets to wearables and TVs.

Each category has six nominees, whittled down from the hundreds of devices we have reviewed in full at some point in the last 12 months and there are some excellent contenders.

The Best TV 2022 category considers all the leading televisions on the market. As with all the categories, it's a tough competition and there can only be one winner.

The Shortlisted nominees for Best TV 2022 are:

You can click on each of the products above to read our full reviews on each nomination, which will give you an idea as to why they have been nominated, or you can read the short verdicts given below.

Winners will be announced in a live event on Wednesday 29 November 2022.

LG OLED evo C2

With the C2, LG strikes an almost perfect balance between performance, design and value. Helped by new EVO panel technologies and a herculean processor, it’s both a brilliant movie screen, and a top-notch gaming display.

Panasonic LZ2000

Panasonic has upgraded its range-topping OLED TV line with a high-brightness panel, novel beam-steering audio technology and an advanced gaming feature set, with High Frame Rate 4K playback. Whatever way you look at it, the LZ2000 is a winning package.

Philips OLED807

From its glamorous metallic form and trim sculpting through to its surprisingly potent sound and eye-catchingly detailed, bright and colourful pictures, the Philips 55OLED807 does everything in its power to make its £1,499 price look like a serious bargain for movie and gaming fans alike.

Samsung QN95B Neo

The 2022 flagship Neo QLED TV from Samsung combines a Mini LED backlight and Quantum Dots with a 4K neural processor and class-leading local dimming. The resulting images are some of the best you’ll see, and this TV sounds good too, thanks to Dolby Atmos integration. A gorgeous design, comprehensive streaming apps, and extensive gaming features completes a great TV package.

Samsung S95B

The Samsung S95B delivers excellent image accuracy, saturated colours and HDR that pops. The smart system is comprehensive, while the gaming features will delight next-gen console owners. The sound system is limited compared to other high-end Samsung TVs, but there’s still onboard Dolby Atmos decoding, and only the lack of Dolby Vision really disappoints. Thanks to some recent price drops, this impressive and cutting-edge QD-OLED TV is definitely one to consider.

Sony A95K

The Sony A95K is an excellent TV that leaves no stone unturned in its quest for greatness. Gamers might not be covered to the same extent as they are elsewhere, but whether you're looking at picture quality, user experience or sound, Sony's A95K is one of the best TVs we've ever seen.

How the Pocket-lint Awards judging works

The winner for the Best TV category is decided by the Pocket-lint team, along with a panel of expert judges from publications across the industry. Following the scoring process, the Best TV winner for 2022 will be announced at an in-person event on 30 November 2022 in Central London, along with the winners from the other 19 categories.

A Product of the Year winner will also be announced, chosen from the winners of the 20 categories and a winner of the EE Superfast Award, will also be revealed at the event. We will be announcing the results on the Pocket-lint Twitter handle as they unfold on the night.
